Derby will be well-represented at the Class 6A baseball and softball tournaments, as well as the state track meet.

In baseball, Derby (13-6) opens play today against Blue Valley (13-9) at 3:30 p.m. at Hoglund Stadium in Lawrence.

In softball, Derby (16-6) plays Olathe South (17-5) at 5 p.m. at Arrocha Ballpark in Lawrence.

Track starts at 2:10 p.m. on Friday at Cessna Stadium with the 100 hurdles.

Qualifiers on the girls side are junior Jaden Taylor (400 meters), sophomore Kaylan Cook (100 hurdles), freshman Nalah Stokes (pole vault), junior Taylor Silva (long jump).

Boys qualifiers are senior Cadin Gustafson (400 meters, long jump), junior Adrian Brown (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles), senior Braden Richardson (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles), senior Kris Wood (pole vault), junior Evan Clark (shot put), senior Riley Cain (discus). The boys also qualified in the 1600 relay and the 3200 relay.
