Page 4: Opinion – Bring back the sauce cart. Please!

Anthony Loera

My nuggets are dry and my burgers are plain – I have some questions.

Where is the sauce cart?

Why hasn’t it returned yet?

If the a la carte is back after two years. Why not the sauce cart?

Tacos without jalapenos? Salad without dressing options?

And get this… chicken nuggets without honey mustard.

I might as well go to McDonald’s and get some sweet and sour sauce. Wait, I can’t.

Ever since the sauce cart disappeared due to Covid-19 two years ago, our school lunches get more stale and boring by the day.

Covid-19 isn’t a big issue anymore so there is no excuse on why not to bring it back.

When will it return?

There are some students that don’t even want to eat the school lunches because they really want the sauce cart back.

Let’s do the student body a favor and give us back the pickles, jalapenos, salad dressing and more!

Kristen Sidebottom, who works in the kitchen, said there’s no plan of the sauce cart coming back.

This is incredibly upsetting for students who really want it back for specific meals like chicken fingers and salads.

Even Sidebottom wants the cart back.

But it could be gone forever.

“It seems like the condiment cups we are offering are well received by students, so we had not intended to change,” said Martha Lawson, the district food service supervisor. “But we are open to student feedback and suggestions.”

This could be our chance to get the sauce cart back and finally eat a meal with some flavor.

We need flavor. We need more options.

Give us the sauce cart back, so we can enjoy school lunches like before.

I mean if we have to pay for school lunches since Covid-19 is over, at least give us something to dip the chicken fingers in.

Lunch is fine with the condiment cups but the sauce cart would be a nice touch. With the sauce cart back, lunch will be much less bland and worth waiting in that line for.

Please bring it back.
