A social media post regarding a gun found on DHS’ campus is false, principal Tim Hamblin said in an email to parents and staff.

“DHS administration immediately worked with Derby Police Department to investigate. No weapon was found and no specific, credible threat has been made to DHS students or staff. Additional police presence has been at DHS out of an abundance of precaution,” Hamblin wrote in the email.

He went on to note ways in which people can report concerns or something that they think needs to be looked into.

If you ever have concerns or something you feel needs looked into, you are encouraged to report it to the school office or an SRO. There are also ways to submit information anonymously.
