It’s the start of the school year, and for Derby High School, that means the start of football season, as well.

Before the start of each new season, Derby showcases all its football teams — from the second grade team to the varsity team in what is known as Derby Night Lights.

On Thursday, Derby’s football program has invited the community to come and watch their various teams scrimmages at the Panther Stadium.

“We are not here to show how good we are, we are here to let our community know that we are one program that is one big family,” Derby football coach Brandon Clark wrote in a news release.

5:30 p.m – 2nd/3rd grade scrimmage

6:00 p.m – 4th/5th grade scrimmage

6:30 p.m – 6th grade scrimmage

7:00 p.m – 7th/8th grade DNMS scrimmage

7:20 p.m – 7th/8th grade DMS scrimmage

7:45 p.m – Derby Junior Football, Derby middle schools and Derby High School stretch

7:55 p.m – Freshman scrimmage

8:20 p.m – JV/Varsity scrimmage
