A stressful week and how to keep up with it

Three days of ACT in a packed gym, third quarter ending, endless exams and at least two state basketball games. It’s an eventful week at DHS with the sweet reward of spring break.

This last sprint is when students often lose motivation and stamina. How do they even keep up?

“I participate in swim and (AFJROTC), which both require a lot of organization. To keep up with everything, it’s good to have a planner. I write in it every day. It keeps track of everything,” senior Theora Ammar said.

Junior Izora Rowland, who is affected by the ACT stress this week, also had some good techniques to get through the week.

“I try and set up a certain time to study where I’m not distracted and then make plans with my friends, too, so I’m not so stressed out,” she said.

She’s taking time off of studying, allowing her brain to take a break from the performance pressure.
