Freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors created class floats for the homecoming parade at the bus barn during school on Thursday, Sept. 28. The parade was that night and showcased the class floats, club floats and the homecoming nominees. Each class float was based off a retro video game and was later judged in a competition, with juniors taking first place.
First place: Juniors (Mario Kart)
Second place: Freshmen (Frogger)
Third place: Seniors (Pac-man)
Fourth place: Sophomores (Street Fighters)
“My favorite part about building the float was getting to work with other sophomores and getting to people while building something amazing and fun,” sophomore Brianna Hassell said. “I loved walking in the parade because I like showing school spirit and I really get all into the chants and cheers.”
The senior class float was Pac-man themed.
The junior class float was based on Mario Kart. Each float was required to represent fall sports, which the juniors did with the Mario Kart flowers.
The sophomores’ float was based on Street Fighters.
The freshmen made their float Frogger themed.
Seniors Lauren Tanner and Tiffany Way work on their float. The seniors made two huge Pac-mans out of cardboard.
