If you haven’t heard of Stranger Things, honestly where have you been. The show has received non-stop gossip about how awesome it is and if you haven’t heard or watched it yet this is a short summary.

Stranger Things is a science fiction-horror television series created and produced by the Duffer Brothers. The first season was released on Netflix in July of 2016 and stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown and many more familiar faces. The series is set in a fictional town named Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s.

The first season focuses mainly on the investigation of a missing kid all the while supernatural events are happening, also introducing a girl named Jane who has psychokinetic powers–meaning she can do crazy things with her mind. Throughout the season you follow four kids in their own journey to find their missing friend, along with the help of Jane (who goes by Eleven).

Season 2 takes place a year later and is more aimed towards the aftermath of the first season, how people coped and are still in shock. They introduce more characters in this season and continue to build on a story that some thought just couldn’t get any better.

According to the Duffer Brothers, the series was developed with themes that were inspired by Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter and Stephen King. The show has even won a SAG Award and was nominated for 18 Emmys.
