Marvel Marathon worth the time

Regina Waugh

Marvel Comics.

When you hear this name, you might think of Iron Man, the Avengers or Captain America. The Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel continues to expand itself with new and modernized versions of its comic book superheroes. Marvel has even stretched itself into online streaming companies such as Netflix, Hulu, Crackle, etc.

Even though there are 19 movies in the Marvel Marathon, they are all connected. Marvel has easter eggs hidden in all their productions. Most film easter eggs connect to another film and can be seen at the end of the credits.

Their TV easter eggs reference a possible overlap into other shows. Because of this, the Marvel Marathon has become a recent trend and fans are watching all of them, so they’re fully prepared for the final Avengers movie.

Another connection the films have in common are the Infinity Stones. There are six Infinity Stones, and each stone is tied to a different aspect of the universe and possesses a unique capability; such as Space, Mind, Reality, Power, Soul and Time.

The lore of the Infinity Stones goes back to the beginning of time before the universe existed. They started as six separate singularities and when the universe exploded into existence, those six singularities separated into the Infinity Stones.

A few things to look forward to in the third Avengers include getting to see Thanos (who is said to be Marvel’s most dangerous villain yet) in action, other Marvel heroes joining the fight (including Black Panther, Doctor Strange, etc.), seeing all the Infinity Stones together and of course seeing some of Earth’s finest heroes working together to save the universe!

  • Power (Orb): Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Mind (Chitauri scepter and Vision): The Avengers and Captain America: Civil War
