With the start of the new season, it didn’t take Derby long to find its footing.

With the loss of Jordan Eickelman, who graduated in 2017, freshman Brianna Moore filled big shoes by scoring five of the Panthers’ seven goals.

Within two minutes of the start of the game, the freshman found the back of the net, setting the game’s tone.

Derby dominated possessions, passing and connection the whole game. With 14 minutes left in the first half, the Panthers got their second goal on sophomore Jordan Crone’s cross to junior Marah Franke.

Four minutes later, Moore netted her second goal. Moore got the hat trick with two minutes left  — in the first half.

Derby kept the momentum going into the second half, and Moore scored again one minute into the half.

Moore scored one more goal just five minutes later, her fifth and final goal of the game.

Derby wasn’t done, and senior transfer Madalyn Liebst scored her first goal with less than six minutes remaining.

The defensive line and goalkeeper senior Lexi Winkle got the shutout.

Derby plays Wichita East in the Titan Classic tournament on March 27.
