Piercings possible with at-home kits

Is it really worth spending all the money on piercings from Tattoo shops or professionals? Some students are taking matters into their own hands by either ordering kits online for under ten dollars or straight up using a safety pin (first choice recommended) and doing it themselves.

Obviously there will be some pros and cons, but if you do it correctly and you save the money, it could be worth it.

Typically piercings range from $30-$75 dollars based on where you go and what kind of earring you get. Always make sure you have a parent’s permission before you do ANY of this or even consider getting a piercing.

The online kits are recommended for ears only, containing a clamp and a few safe needles.

“I pierced my nose because I’ve always wanted it and wanted a change,” junior Adreanna Needham said. “I asked my mom and she was cool with it, super painful though.”
