The Chick-fil-A Leader Academy at Derby High School is a group of 30 students, who meet every month to work on leadership and servitude skills. There are two service projects each year: Do Good December and spring impact project.

Three groups of 10 have Do Good December projects; all of them participate in the spring project. The impact project this year is a run in honor of military children. It’s called Run, White, White and Blue. Proceeds go to Friends and Families Support Center at McConnell Air Force Base.

The run is at High Park on Saturday, April 28. Registration starts at 8 a.m. In order to receive both a T-shirt and a medal, registration forms must be in by April 14. There are three options for runs: 17-and-under one mile, 18-and-older one mile and all ages 5K.

Registration forms have been sent home with every student in K-8 grades. Additional forms are available at Derby Public Library and Derby Recreation Center. Everyone is welcome.

High school clubs will have games and face paints during the run for children. Food trucks will be available during and after the run.
