Glanville named yearbook editor in chief for 2018-19

Abby Glanville was part of a group of sophomores who, in 2016-17, made their mark as current and future leaders.

She developed a versatility in writing, design, photography and leadership.

Glanville, now a junior, has been on a remarkable journey that will culminate with her becoming the editor in chief of the 2019 Derby High School yearbook.

Glanville is a phenomenal choice to lead the yearbook largely because of her willingness to fill in any gaps that pop up in coverage of stories or design or leadership.

She fundraises for the journalism program, she works outside of class hours to get big projects done, and she’s willing to do about any job needed.

She has this delightfully sarcastic personality that you have to laugh at — or at least smile along with — as well as a sweetness that puts her fellow teammates in a tough position of figuring out how to tell her that, ‘no, they can’t get the job done.’

Coffee is Glanville’s passion and also her favorite thing to spend money on. But she loves the dancing that happens at yearbook work nights, as well.

And if she’s going to rock out to a song, it’s going to be Say Amen by Panic at the Disco.

Glanville has big goals for 2019. Plans are already in motion for the theme for the yearbook and the stories that we’ll do.
