Girls Basketball — first game of the season

Tonight is the first game of the 2018-19 girls basketball season as well as the first home game.

“I’m just hoping to get better as a team, and for each and everyone of us to get better individually,” sophomore Jaidyn Schomp said.

Girls freshman team plays at 4pm. Varsity at 6pm. Junior varsity at 7:30pm. All girls teams play at the Derby High School gym.

“We all are really excited, we want to go back to state and win. We got to start small, take it game by game,” junior Sadie Svymbersky said.

Tickets can be bought upon arrival at Derby High School — $6 for adults, $4 for kids.

“I hope that we go undefeated throughout the whole season — another state championship,” senior Tor’e Alford said.
