Girls golf back at state

The Panthers qualified for 6A state golf tournament by taking second in regionals. This will be the sixth year in a row that the Panthers have gone to state.

Halle Rader took fourth place.

“It is always exciting to qualify for state especially as a team.  This will be my fourth year qualifying for state. We have a great team this year, we all are close in scores. I’m not sure what the outcome will be, but we are excited to see how we match up to other teams in the state,” senior Macey Truitt said.

State is on Oct. 19-20 at Hesston Golf Course.

It feels amazing to have the opportunity to go to state because we have worked really hard all season at practice and at our tourneys. I have been to state once and that was last year during my freshman year. I think state is going to go pretty decent because Hesston is an easy course to play but also has its challenges from hole to hole. It’s nothing that our team can’t face but we have played it before already earlier in the season,” sophomore Katy Johnson said.

Senior Lauren Davis said: “It feels great to be able to go to state. It’s a confidence booster for the whole team. Regionals were really hard just because of the course, but I have high hopes for state, since it’s an easier course.”
