Derby boys tennis finish fifth in AVCTL meet

On Monday Derby boys tennis went to Newton for the AVCTL league meet. The meet consisted of two doubles teams and two singles teams. It was bracket play with 14 different teams with two teams getting a bye.
The Panthers’ doubles teams were Daniel Dunn and Brady Walls, who were seeded seventh, and Clayton Simmons and Ryan Palmer, who were seeded 11th. Singles included Jarret Bowman, seeded fourth, and James Werbin, seeded 11th.
Dunn and Walls took seventh place, while Simmons and Palmer took ninth.
Bowman finished seventh and Werbin was 13th.
The Panthers placed fifth overall.
