It has been a year since the last “normal” week of our lives. We had no idea of the ways life would change when we left school on March 13, 2020. 

 

The yearbook staff worked to brainstorm some of the ways our lives have been changed this past year. 

 

Surveys have been sent out to school emails regarding Covid-19, and those who would like to be interviewed can leave their names. 

 

Masks

No state basketball

Limited amount of items at the store

Don’t hug, don’t shake hands

No pep rallies 

No mantherettes

No Winter Olympics

No get togethers

Curbside pickup

Holidays without extended family

Hand sanitizer between every class, after going to the store, etc. 

Saying “I don’t have Covid, I promise” after sneezing or coughing

Many people haven’t had a cold all year, when they usually get colds like clockwork

We’ve been cleaner than ever; disinfecting everything

TV shows have added Covid to their plots

College: admissions, visits, etc. have been affected

Plexiglass. Everywhere

Political turmoil due to Covid

Remote school

No vacations

Putting together schedules without counselors

Streaming services and movies

Team quarantines

Visiting families at hospitals, people dying alone 

Babies born in quarantine

Mental health 

Random hobbies

Crystals

Astrology

Making jewelry, painting, knitting, etc.

State-mandated lockdowns

No foreign exchange students at school

Calling on the phone before appointments
