Derby won again on Friday night, improving to 4-0.

The Panthers continue to blow their opponents out of the water, following the 77-7 win over Salina South by beating Hutchinson 56-6.

Derby’s offense was able to play more comfortably and expand their offensive depth, as many different players scored.

Senior Drake Thatcher got the scoring started with a trick play for a 1-yard run in the first quarter. Those were the only points in the period, but Derby made up for it in the second quarter.

Cayden Brown caught a 41-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Mercer Thatcher to get the scoring started. Then Dylan Edwards scored on a 38-yard run, and Mercer Thatcher followed with two rushing touchdowns.

Thatcher threw a 26-yard scoring pass to Travon Rose and Brock Zerger scored on a 33-yard run.

Derek Hubbard finished the Panthers’ scoring with a 33-yard run in the final period.

The Panthers have scored 228 points and given up 66.
