How do you feel about qualifying for state?

“I feel proud of myself, you know because last year I didn’t get to go, so knowing I’m a senior finishing off qualifying feels pretty good.”

How is it for you knowing no one else from the team qualified?

“I’m actually not going to lie, I did shed a few tears, it was pretty sad because I did have high hopes for my team. I knew they could do it, I knew that they were under a lot of pressure.”

What are you going to miss most about high school tennis?

“I’m definitely going to miss traveling and getting food. I’m also going to miss the competition and the hype, and the popularity that comes with it too. It’s like a moment of oh yeah, I’m that person.”

Do you plan on doing any type of tennis after high school?

“Yes, I’m planning on playing tennis at Howard University in Washington D.C. So wherever life takes me after high school, I’m definitely planning on playing tennis.”
