Football finishes regular season 7-0, wins AVCTL I title

Derby won again, beating Maize South 52-14 Friday and is now 7-0.

The Panthers won the AVCTL I title.

Junior running back Dylan Edwards had six touchdowns on the night and four came in the first quarter. 

Edwards also had three carries for more than 200 yards.

At halftime Edwards and the Panthers led 52-0.

Maize South scored two touchdowns in the second half, but it was not enough to catch back up after Derby dominated the first half.

Derby is heading into the first round of playoffs on Oct. 29

The Panthers will be the No. 1 seed and they are the only unbeaten team in Class 6A.
