The most anticipated sport at Derby High is about to take off, and the whole town is ready. Yesterday was Derby Night Lights, but this year it was on a Thursday night.
The reason for this change is that the college football team at Kansas State starts their season tonight. The K-State team is presenting the family of Braxon Kooser a stone in his memory. Because of this, Derby’s team is expecting a large turnout at K-State and did not want this to interfere with Derby Night Lights.
Derby loves its football team, and the scrimmage last night got everyone in the mood for the season to begin. The 2013 home football games this year are as follows:
Date Opponent Time
9/06 Salina South 7:00PM
9/20 Maize 7:00PM
10/11 Hutchinson 7:00PM
10/18 Wichita South 7:00PM
11/01 Heights 7:00PM
