After Labor Day weekend, students walked into school to find that, in some classrooms, it’s warmer inside than it is outside. According to Hamblin, one of the two air conductors went out in the school. It was fixed on Tuesday. It still may be hot in some rooms through Wednesday because the school is so large it takes a while for it to cool down.
The hottest rooms are having to move into the commons to work or do activities in the halls so they aren’t sweating. In M04, Madame Woods has brought a fan in to help move air around in effort to keep her students cool. But for some rooms, a fan just isn’t enough.
Students’ energy is being drained by the heat and this leaves them grumpy by the time school is over.
“I don’t really want to get sweaty again once I’ve showered after zero hour. The heat is terrible, makes me tired and fall asleep in class, and I just want to go home because of it,” senior Shane Fowler said.
By Friday, students should be able to walk into any classroom and expect air conditioning.
