The high school was evacuated after a grenade had been found in a student’s backpack.

A student had reported seeing a picture on Snapchat of another student with a grenade at the high school.

The Derby Police Department was notified and the Wichita Bomb Squad was called in. Officers determined that the grenade was not live and not a threat to the school.
