Excited about securing its third straight league title on Feb. 18, Derby boys bowling Coach Brent Cunningham can’t wait to get ready for regionals. 

“We have checked off the first goal of our season, which is to win the league, and now get ready for our next two goals by winning regionals and state,” Cunningham said. 

A wave of emotions hitting senior Colby Hedden as this is his last year to bowl for his school.

“It was a great feeling. The AVCTL is a great league, but for us our goals end in a state championship and that’s what we’re focused on. I would tell my teammates who I am leaving to stay in the moment; you don’t realize how fast it goes until you’re a senior and you don’t get any more chances,” Hedden said.

Regionals are Feb 23. at Wichita-West Acres Bowl 

State is March 3. at Wichita-Northrock Lanes
