When you first get your restricted license, you can’t wait to drive to school – until it’s the morning of and you’re panicking in the long line of cars on Rock at the Pinion light.
“The first-day driving was scary because I didn’t know what to expect,” sophomore McKinley Sinclair said.
The parking lot is another beast.
“The parking lot is really chaotic and it was hard to get out of after school,” sophomore Cameron Wilson said.
A handful of students choose to park in the back of the school because it’s less stressful.
“The parking lot is OK if you stay in the back it’s pretty easy,” Sinclair said.
The parking lots in the back, however, are specifically for the staff members.
“I think they should get a ticket unless their family works here, or they ride with one of the teachers,” English teacher Edward Belsan said.
Wilson used to be a bus rider, but when she got a license she started driving to school.
“It was less stressful to ride the bus because the bus driver deals with the traffic, but I still prefer driving to school,” Wilson said.
