The Panthers volleyball team split the day on Tuesday, sweeping Campus in two sets after falling to Maize South in two.
“We came together and cheered each other on,” sophomore Lillian Like said. “We communicated and used our skills to not only benefit ourselves but each other, as well.”
Like had nine kills, seven in the match with Campus.
Junior Lilly Waters was out for the Maize South match with a knee injury but played against Campus, finishing with eight kills.
“I wanted to save my leg, so it didn’t hurt too much,” Waters said.
The Panthers had 31 kills for the night, including 23 against Campus. They also had eight aces combined.
“Some people played in positions they’ve never played in, but at this level, you should be able to play all the positions,” Panthers coach Shelby Kraus said.
The Panthers, who celebrated senior night, next plays against Newton at Hutchinson on Sept. 26.
