During the month of September, three Derby Panthers were recognized for their artistry in the way of photography and design.
Every month, the Kansas Scholastic Press Association hand picks outstanding work from those in yearbook around the state.
For September, Junior Liberty Smith, Senior Joselyn Steele, and Junior Lillith Rourke were all commended for their hard work throughout the month.
“I think it’s super cool, I didn’t even expect to win and I think that a couple other things that were on there deserved to win, but I still think it’s super cool,” illustration editor, Rourke said.
Along with Rourke taking first place in the yearbook layout category, Steele took second place in the same category and Smith took second place as well in sports photography.
