Junior Piper Hula qualified for the 6A state cross country meet at regionals on Oct. 21 with a time of 20:47.40. Hula placed 13th overall.
Hula was followed by junior Eilyanis Monge in 24th place with a time of 21:39.79 and sophomore Brooke Downs in 31st with a time of 22:32.82.
Junior Lucas Kreutzer led the boys’ team in 26th place with a time of 17:40.14, along with senior Landen Tucker in 32nd place at 18:12.13. Junior Jeremiah Johnson, freshman Ben Perry, sophomore Wyatt Thompson and senior Lucas Lyman took 41st, 42nd, 43rd, and 44th respectively.
Tucker was disqualified after the race.
Hula will be competing in the state meet on Oct. 28 at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence. Girls will race at 11:45 am and awards will be held at 12:45 pm.
