Fall brings on favorite family recipes.
“My family makes Pozole, and it’s really delicious,” sophomore Maritza Escobar-Loera said.
Pozole is a traditional Mexican dish that is normally served with meat and can be garnished with lettuce, cabbage, avocados, anything that you want on it.
“My family usually serves Pozole with cabbage and radish in it, while we have sour cream and corn chips on the side,” Escobar said.
Another recipe people enjoy is a typical snack that you make next to a fire.
“Homemade S’mores are really good,” freshman Sophia Rogers said.
S’mores are a fun snack that you normally eat around a fire, but some people make and eat it while inside their homes. It’s still a good way to connect with family and friends.
There are also many allergies when it comes to food and so we have to work around that.
“I have a dairy allergy, and so normal pumpkin pie is something I can’t anymore. I found a dairy-free pumpkin pie recipe that I enjoy,” spanish teacher Sabrina Garding said.
Some families don’t really have specific holiday recipes and they take to the internet and to social media platforms.
“If we make anything, we normally get it off of pinterest” sophomore Madelyn Castaneda said.
