Spotify users got their yearly Spotify Wrapped on Nov. 29.
Spotify Wrapped reflects on some of your favorite artists and your top songs of the year.
This year, Wrapped brings excitement to Spotify users, especially junior Zoey Williams.
“I used it (Spotify) a little bit each day,” Williams said, “I ended up having 5,970 minutes, which isn’t a lot compared to other people.”
Whoever your top artist was for the year, it shows you what top percentage listener you are depending on how many minutes you have listened to that artist.
Williams was in the top 12% of Taylor Swift listeners.
“Her (Taylor Swift’s) music is just super upbeat and it just brings good vibes. It just really makes me happy,” Williams said.
Wrapped shows what your “Peak listening month” was for your number one artist, which means the month you started to listen to the artist repetitively.
“My top band was a band called Slipknot, and my peak month was in January,” junior Kiara Valentine said.
Some people are caught off guard with their wrap results, and senior Emma Kelly’s Top song caught her by surprise.
“It was so unexpected my top artist was a song I was obsessed with for like a week or two,” Kelly said.
When it comes to the end of the year, with Wrapped you also get to see the total minutes of music you listened to.
“I wasn’t expecting many minutes on my Spotify wrap but I got about 80,000 minutes,” senior Poy Nopphavong said.
Every year Spotify has a fun and unique way of showing your wrapped, this year had more detailed information than last year.
“I actually prefer this year over last year wrapped because it has more variety and I get to see how my music taste changed,” said Nopphavong
Spotify wrapped has been around since about 2016 and each year it’s always an interesting way to showcase all the different music and artists you listened too and every year there is always an excited tension around the end to see the outcome of wrapped.
