Senior Destiny Smith has been an integral part of the girls basketball team whilst being nominated for the McDonald’s All-American team

“It’s very exciting,” Smith said. 

Smith has averaged 9.2 points per game, 3.0 assists and a rebound in only a handful of games so far.

Addy Brown, a freshman at Iowa State, was named to the McDonald’s All-American team in 2023.

“Me and Addy are best friends so it was a great accomplishment to make it especially because out of 300 kids only 11 make it,” Smith said. 

Smith has led the Panthers on a five-game winning streak and hopes to keep the momentum going.
