There was an extremely offensive race-related statement made that was put onto the Canvas platform as an “announcement” for all to see around midnight on Tuesday. 

The Canvas account that was hacked is now displayed as “Phishing/Spam Do NOT use,” however it may still be visible on one’s account. The district is working to prohibit the account entirely. 

The district released the following statement:

“Racism has no place in our schools. The message shared does not align with the district’s mission, vision, or beliefs. We are committed to fostering an environment of inclusivity, respect, and understanding. We sincerely apologize to those who may have seen this offensive post.”
