As the girls swim season kicks off, sophomores share their input on their first swim meet of the season at the Goddard Genesis Health Complex on March 19.
Sophomore Michaela Blankenship swam the 50 free, 100 breast, and a few relays.
“I got state consideration for my individual events and my relay qualified for state,” Blankenship said.
Blankenship said the environment was fun.
“I got really good times and it was my first meet, so it was a great way to start off the season,” Blankenship said.
For sophomore Lilly Macormac, it was her first swim meet overall.
“It was definitely new for me and I appreciate the older girls because they helped the newer swimmers figure out what we need to do and what’s going on,” Macormac said.
Macormac was nervous for her first meet.
“It was really nerve-wracking and nobody really knew what to expect. Even the coaches because it was a new building hosting a swim meet,” Macormac said.
