Let’s get one thing straight: Senioritis is real.
Senioritis is the lack of motivation that comes along with being a senior. I’ve always been the person to keep track of what needs to be done and make sure it’s done on time, but not this year.
This year, the only thing I want to do is sleep. I am always tired.
I am keeping up with my schoolwork the best I can, but it’s clear I’ve stopped giving my best effort. Last semester, I had straight A’s, and this semester….well, let’s not talk about that.
On a real note, I can’t find motivation for anything, even things I have always looked forward to.
I am known for taking photos and making highlight videos, it’s something I’ve always found fun. But this year every time I start to pull out my camera or open my laptop to edit a video, it all feels like work.
Even my video production teacher noticed. He asked me when I’d make another highlight video because it’s been so long.
I’ve found the only way to get things done is by forcing myself to do them.
In class I have my friends take my phone, and they won’t let me touch it until I get my work done.
Even with this story you’re reading, I am doing it on the day of the deadline (sorry, Chadwick).
The only thing keeping me motivated is knowing I am almost done.
It’s time to lock in.
