During the Campus meet on March 28, the girls swim team celebrates and sings happy birthday to their coach, Danny Smith.

“It was interesting for sure, my initial thought was why why why,” Smith said.

Smith isn’t necessarily the biggest fan of public recognition, but the other coaches started up a birthday song for him.

“While I wasn’t a fan at the moment, it was heartwarming to see so many people care,” Smith said.

The fact that the team did this together, meant a lot to Smith.

“The photo alone shows the girls having a blast and I think that’s what matters the most,” Smith said.
