Waiting with anticipation, Hallie Wilson is ready to see all of the hard work these choirs have put in come together for the Pops concert on May 16 and 17.
“Dress rehearsal was literally the most fun thing ever. My favorite number is probably the Mads Men or the Opener because it was so funny to watch, and the Opener is just so fun to perform,” freshman Hallie Wilson said.
Wilson is in Choralaires, the freshman dominant, non-auditioned group. They are performing “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift.
“I’m so pumped and just can’t wait to see everything in full swing. I think we are going to do great,” Wilson said.
All the choirs have put such hard work into learning the songs and dances to bring the show to life. With a wide variety of songs, with music from “Barbie”, to Philharmonics showstopper, Bella Penka is ready to perform to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
“My favorite number in Pops has to be Bohemian Rhapsody! The choreography, the lights, the vocals, and overall just the vibes are absolutely amazing. The atmosphere at dress rehearsal during that number was not as overwhelming as I thought it was. Everyone loved it and cheered us on as we performed. I think Bohemian Rhapsody is definitely going to be one of the best parts of the show,” Penka said.
The atmosphere during Pops is always electrifying, beautiful, and emotional. Emily Crowell gives all she has into dancing and singing. She has been working the hardest to make sure she knows all the choreography by heart.
“I am more excited, its not about perfection in my opinion, it’s about showing your love for performance, dancing, and singing. It’s about having fun,” Crowell said.
Everyone involved in Pops is ecstatic about the experience and is amped up and ready to perform for a full auditorium on both nights.
