The girls tennis senior night was originally planned for Sept.19 at 12:30 p.m., but it was postponed due to high temperatures. 

Senior Aliyah Burkholder was disappointed. 

“It’s kind of sad cause it’s our senior night, and I had plans with my friends before to get lunch,” Burkholder said. 

The event is now set for Thursday at 12:30 p.m. before they start their tournament. Seniors’ names will be announced along with their future goals or a fun fact about themselves.

There are 12 seniors on the team that will be announced.

“Seniors are the foundation of our team,” coach Kristen Regie said. 

Burkholder is still excited for this event. 

“It seems fun to be announced and be with my friends,” Burkholder said. 

This event is showing the support that the seniors have from everyone. 

“Our hope is that they feel valued and celebrated,” Regier said. “I imagine it is a bittersweet event for these girls as it marks the nearing of the end of their high school tennis season and the first of the ‘lasts’ of high school.”
