Clay students are creating bowls to give to the Empty Bowls fundraiser.
The event takes place on Oct. 19 at Wichita State University with a $35 entry.
“They ask local artists, students, anyone is welcome to donate and participate in the event,” clay wheel teacher Natalie Brown said.
Various artists create bowls to give to the organization. Once you buy a bowl, you get to fill that specific bowl with food.
“It is basically an event that’s coordinated where we have different artists from the community who make different bowls; they’re donated to the organization, then they have a large dinner,” Brown said.
All the fundraising goes towards the food bank and people with food insecurity.
