Most people’s interests lie in sports, art, music, etc. 

For junior Jerome Mwarema, his interest lies in cars. 

“Something that I feel makes me different from others is my love for cars,” Mwarema said.

While everyone may have a favorite car, Mwarema’s favorite is the Corvette.

“I especially love Corvettes,” Mwarema said.

Opinions on the best car may differ; they often find common ground in their passions.

“I really just like tinkering around with stuff, taking things apart and putting them back together,” Mwarema said.

Mwarema also enjoys engineering.

“I like anything that has to do with engineering. I’m taking Intro to Engineering, and I’m planning to take Outerspace Engineering,” Mwarema said.

Derby High School offers many different class options for the things specific to Mwarema’s interests.

“Mr. Link offers some classes I would like to take, like Outerspace Engineering. He really just offers a lot of opportunities to do and learn things about engineering,” Mwarema said.
