Trunk-Or-Treat, the ultimate candy stop.
“It’s just a community outreach activity and we like to promote HOSA (Future Health Professionals), so we always try to get involved,” HOSA sponsor Kathleen O’Brien said.
Junior HOSA executive officer, Jermiah Johnson helps out with the event.
“I help out by donating candy and by volunteering to help the day of the event to pass out candy for the children,” Johnson said.
HOSA doesn’t require community service hours, but it is a good opportunity to get in touch with the community.
“We strive for each of our members to participate in community events to be of service,” Johnson said.
HOSA attends this event with their own themed ‘trunk.’
“Last year we did a garden of evil theme that incorporated the club’s medical background with a Halloween-themed twist,” Johnson said.
HOSA’s theme this year was a Halloween disco theme.
“There are so many fun, like mirror ball Halloween decorations this year, that’s the vibe we’re going with,” HOSA sponsor Dylan Brown said.
The event was planned for Stone Creek Elementary on Oct. 27.
“My favorite part of Trunk-or-treat is seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces when we give them candy,” Johnson said.
