Being part of a team is more than just the game; it’s about the connections within the team.
The cross country team is one of the well-known sports for team bonding, including team meals, movies and game nights.
The group works well together, mainly because they work so much on team chemistry.
“My favorite memory has to be when we did a lip sync and dance contest,” junior Brooke Downs said.
Throughout their get-togethers, they’ve developed many inside jokes and new favorite activities to do as a group. They have a good time and get along no matter how much time they spend together outside practice.
Football tackled the season with team dinners. Junior varsity and varsity football meet every Tuesday and Thursday night for dinner.
The team splits into the offensive and defensive lines and the seniors on Tuesdays. On Thursday nights, everyone eats together.
“I don’t have a favorite memory, but I have many (memories) of the team succeeding and everyone having a great time,” junior Zachary Bland said.
Creating a family helps during ups and downs.
As the season ends, the girls’ tennis team continued to support each other. The girls’ tennis team is made up of veteran players and newcomers to the sport, but they support each other and work to help one another.
“It is just a great team to be on and I love everyone that I’ve gotten close with the past few weeks,” junior Karlie Demel said.
The soccer team is more close-knit than in past years, according to junior Alex Denesongkham.
The team doesn’t bond outside of practice, but practicing and playing games is their way to grow closer.
“We wouldn’t be on the field if it weren’t for everyone being there, being a family, and being ready to work together,” Denesongkham said.
