While freshman Lily Dannis has a lot of hobbies, there’s one in particular that sticks out to her more than the others; poetry.

This newfound hobby started after Dannis read a book in her bedroom one day.

“I think it was the book ‘Milk and Honey’ by Rubi Kaur. I read that and I was like ‘Oh. Sounds fun.’ and I’ve been doing it since 6th grade,” Dannis said.

Poetry was a way for Dannis to express herself, and her emotions.

“(I write about) my life. Honestly, half the time I make stuff up so that it sounds exciting, or I make up stories and make them poems,” Dannis said.
