The Panthers continue rolling through the playoffs with ease in a 62-28 victory over Wichita East on Friday.
As expected sophomore Arieus Finley played a big role in the Derby offense with 21 carries on the ground for 188 yards and four touchdowns.
Quarterback Drew Kemp had three passing touchdowns, two to senior Da’Saahn Brame and the other a 70-yarder to John Lujan.
The Panthers are set to face off against Manhattan in the Class 6A semifinals on Nov. 22 at home. This is the third straight year the two teams have faced each other in the playoffs.
Injuries might be an issue going into the substate game for the Panthers.
Brame took a hit to the knee early in the first half but was sent to the locker room.
Cornerback Martel Jackson also was injured during the game.
Safety James Middlebrook missed Friday’s game from his injury suffered in the Nov. 8 game against Junction City.
