The Class of 2025 seniors are wrapping up their last year of high school.
Not only have they successfully completed 12 years of schooling, but they have grown – grown as people, grown as adults, grown as leaders.
Several seniors left underclassmen with advice on how to navigate high school, make the most out of it and have fun.
Lilith Rourke wrote “be awesome.”
“Well, I was going to write ‘be yourself,’ but I feel like being yourself is awesome so being awesome is the better choice,” Rourke said.
All around are factors that can influence your life, and people can try to change you, judge you or make you feel like an outcast.
Staying true to yourself is difficult, but it is a key to remember.
Mallory Baker wrote “be yourself always. Do what makes you happy and love yourself.”
“Because I feel like this is something I struggled with when I was in high school, like I always felt like I should be fitting in,” Baker said. “But my senior year I really stepped out of my comfort zone and done things that make me happy and I am proud of who I am.”
Although the last year of high school can sound like a dream, seniors warn against throwing away academics.
Evian Curtis wrote: “take it serious.”
“Senior year people kind of go into it and get a lot of electives and mess around, but it’s like your final year and you have to get it done or you can’t graduate,” Curtis said.
It is critical to try your best in every class, but you can’t be perfect every time.
“A bad day or grade isn’t the end of the world,” Jamie Lever said.
It is also crucial to have a strength to back up any weaknesses.
Ethan Moody wrote: “if you’re gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.”
Many students may also be ending this chapter in life soon.
Seniors advise to remember it, remember your beginnings, and remember how you ended up where you are now.
Raphael Thomas wrote: “keep it moving, but never forget to look back.”
“Well, you know it’s kind of my life philosophy,” Thomas said. “I just keep it moving, even when it’s hard. But I always try to remember why I got here because that’s the most important part –– staying you.”
