When it comes to basketball, sophomore Avant Riley is a veteran Riley is a point guard for Derby High school boys basketball team and has been playing basketball for most of his life. Throughout Rileys time he has been injured about three times. Riley mentioned that when being injured his mental health was a issue. When talking to Riley about his injuries and mental Riley seemed a bit gloomy but joyful. “(What) I wanted to do was get back on the court,” Riley said. When Riley was able to get back on the court Riley mentioned how good the feeling was.
