Both varsity bowling teams claimed victories in a home meet against Trinity and Mulvane High School.
The varsity boys team secured first place with a combined score of 2,854 pins.
Senior Evan Clark led the Panthers, finishing first individually with a total of 731 pins.
“I felt like I did good just focused on controlling the pocket and not leaving hard splits,” Clark said. “I think throwing the back six strikes of my last game was a significant moment for me.”
Sophomore Michael Stanger earned second place with a score of 708 pins, narrowly edging out junior Cash Carns, who placed third with 706 pins.
“For the way I started off, I feel I finished good,” Stanger said. “Going 185 game one, then ball changing to go 290 and 233 was definitely the significant moment.”
The varsity girls team also took first place, with a combined score of 1,870 pins.
Senior Lacey Baney led Derby, finishing second individually with 495 pins. Junior Morgan Thompson placed third with 483 pins, while senior Aleah Jones came in fourth with 432 pins.
