The Panther bowling teams showcased their skills at a home triangular meet against Maize South High School and Wichita Trinity Academy, dominating the event.
The varsity boys secured first place, amassing a total of 2,909 pins. Junior Cash Carns led the individual standings, finishing in first place with a score of 753 pins.
“I think I performed decent, not the best I can, but I finally got the break I was looking for,” Carns said. “I have a very good understanding of the game now, and I can adjust to anything. But the only thing I think was a little troublesome was the lane transition.”
Close behind him, senior Tai Gibbon finished third with 714 pins. Sophomore Michael Stanger followed in fourth with 713 pins, while Evan Clark took fifth with 689 pins.
The varsity girls team finished in second place, recording a total of 2,084 pins. Junior Taylor Truesdale placed fourth with 545 pins, while senior Lacey Baney finished fifth with 531.
The Panthers’ strong performance highlights their preparation for Saturday’s Great Plains Championship tournament at Northrock Bowling Alley.
“I’m looking forward to everyone performing the best they can and having a good time while we’re bowling. Hopefully, we will win,” Carns said. “We haven’t won this tournament as a team, so it would be cool to check that off our list if we won.”
