The Panthers captured their seventh consecutive Ark Valley Chisholm Trial League (AVCTL) title with another championship victory with 495 points.
“The boys work hard every single day to make sure the streak continues; today was another example of that,” assistant coach Danny Smith said. “The moment we get the heat sheet, we score it out to see where we stand in terms of points. The boys beat those expectations. Every. Single. Time. Part of it is because they’re not afraid to leave it all in the pool.”
Hours of hard work from each swimmer paid off as multiple athletes cut time off their set goals.
AVCTL is more than just the events the boys swim in; the family aspect of the team keeps them united.
“We have been preaching to the boys all season long the importance of teamwork. “It takes all of us’ has been ingrained into their brains every day,” Smith said. “It’s not just the swims that matter, but the atmosphere on the pool deck as well.”
As Smith emphasizes, “They don’t just work for themselves; they work for each other, and I truly think this separates them from everyone else.”
