The boys bowling team took second in its Class 6A regional on Feb. 25, advancing to the state tournament on March 7.
Three Panthers finished in the top 10 — senior Evan Clark was sixth, scoring a 677, while sophomore Michael Stanger finished ninth (642) and senior Dawson Baumgartner was 10th (636 points).
The Panthers rolled a 3,472.
While no Derby girls placed in the top 10, senior Lacey Baney was 14th, rolling a 551. Junior Morgan Thompson was 15th (549) and junior Taylor Truesdale was 18th (538).
Although the girls team did not qualify for state, Baney was in the top six bowlers whose team did not qualify — so she will compete at state on March 7. The girls team finished fourth, scoring 2665.
