The softball season kicked off in a short two-game series against Newton on March 27. The Lady Panthers won both games 16-2 and 16-1.
This season’s team consists of four seniors and the rest are underclassmen.
“We were still working some things out when it comes to the field, but we worked as a unit and as a solid team and was able to work through our challenges and reach the goal of the day — which was to win,” senior second basemen Jersey Ramirez said.
In 2024 the Panthers hosted regionals and advanced to the Class 6A tournament. The goal is to get to that point again.
“I’m most excited to see how this newer varsity group plays in under-pressure moments. The goal is to host regionals and then return to state and make it past the first round,” junior centerfielder Karlie Demel said.
