ESports had multiple notable placings at state over the weekend, including winning the championship in Marvel Rivals and Overwatch 2.
The LAN tournament was at Pratt Community College on April 25.
Seven students participated, including sophomores Carson Whitener, Connor Jones, David Royer, junior Ambrosio Aguayo, seniors Jovany Guzman, Dustin Anderson, and Leopald Reitmayer.
The players performed well considering the tiring day.
“Our Marvel Rivals match wasn’t over until 1 a.m.,” eSports coach Caitlin Hendrix said.
Next on their radar? Grand championships.
“Looking at our record, we should at least win second in Overwatch and first for Marvel Rivals,” Hendrix said.
The team ended up placing second overall in Overwatch 2 at grand championships and won at semifinals for Marvel Rivals.
“We’re all very different people. We all have our individual goals,” eSports caption David Royer said. “But, our main goal is to just be the best.”
